רַבִּי יוּדָן אָמַר לַמָּקוֹם שֶׁיְהֵא מָרְאֶה לָךְ. וַיֹּאמֶר קַח נָא אֶת בִּנְךָ וגו' (בראשית כב, ב), אָמַר לוֹ בְבַקָּשָׁה מִמְּךָ קַח נָא אֶת בִּנְךָ, אָמַר לֵיהּ תְּרֵין בְּנִין אִית לִי אֵי זֶה בֵּן, אָמַר לוֹ: אֶת יְחִידְךָ. It contains many simple explanations of words and sentences, often in Aramaic, suitable for the instruction of youth. Even the new heavens and earth, spoken of by the Prophet Isaiah (65. It is a midrash comprising a collection of ancient rabbinical homiletical interpretations of the Book of Genesis (B'reshith in Hebrew). אָמַר רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן בֶּן יוֹחָאי תָּבוֹא חֲבָשָׁה וְתַעֲמֹד עַל חֲבָשָׁה, תָּבוֹא חֲבָשָׁה שֶׁחָבַשׁ אַבְרָהָם אָבִינוּ לֵילֵךְ וְלַעֲשׂוֹת רְצוֹנוֹ שֶׁל מָקוֹם שֶׁל מִי שֶׁאָמַר וְהָיָה הָעוֹלָם, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר (בראשית כב, י): וַיִּשְׁלַח אַבְרָהָם אֶת יָדוֹ וגו', וְתַעֲמֹד עַל חֲבָשָׁה שֶׁחָבַשׁ בִּלְעָם לֵילֵךְ וּלְקַלֵּל אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל. (בראשית כב, ג): וַיְבַקַּע עֲצֵי עֹלָה, רַבִּי חִיָּא בַּר יוֹסֵי בְּשֵׁם רַבִּי מְיָאַשָׁא וְתָנֵי לָהּ בְּשֵׁם רַבִּי בְּנָיָה, בִּשְׂכַר שְׁתֵּי בְּקִיעוֹת שֶׁבָּקַע אַבְרָהָם אָבִינוּ עֲצֵי עוֹלָה זָכָה לְהִבָּקַע הַיָּם לִפְנֵי בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר: וַיְבַקַּע עֲצֵי עֹלָה, וְנֶאֱמַר לְהַלָּן (שמות יד, כא): וַיִבָּקְעוּ הַמָּיִם. And He said: Take, please, your son, etc. וַיְהִי אַחַר הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וְהָאֱלֹהִים נִסָּה אֶת אַבְרָהָם (בראשית כב, א), כְּתִיב (תהלים ס, ו): נָתַתָּה לִּירֵאֶיךָ נֵס לְהִתְנוֹסֵס מִפְּנֵי קשֶׁט סֶלָּה, נִסָּיוֹן אַחַר נִסָּיוֹן, וְגִדּוּלִין אַחַר גִּדּוּלִין, בִּשְׁבִיל לְנַסּוֹתָן בָּעוֹלָם, בִּשְׁבִיל לְגַדְּלָן בָּעוֹלָם, כַּנֵּס הַזֶּה שֶׁל סְפִינָה.
