UPDATE: Totally forgot to update this thread but I changed my cable to a VESA certified cable and the second port now works. I just bought a new Gigabyte rtx 2060 OC and i am trying to deal with a problem i think i won't be able to solve anytime soon. They plug directly into an Nvidia GTX 1080.

While turning on my pc for the first time the displayport was working just fine but right after i installed the gpu drivers the monitor went black and never changed back to normal.
Also the monitor using the DP cable cannot be detected by the system's display settings (even when pressing the detect button) , nor by nvidia control panel's multiple display settings.
Just no signal.
To solve this issue, it turned out to be as basic as: You can connect any additional monitors back up to the PC once the broken monitor is working again.

I then switched back to the non working displayport and power cycled my PC and monitor and this is where it starts getting weird, my monitor gets an output at the bios but at a super low resolution and once it hits windows, I lose the signal altogether. I could see it in the settings, but when trying to tell it to “extend these displays”, it couldn’t save the configuration.
